You Can Begin Again!

Last week doesn’t get to define this week.

Maybe last week didn’t go the way you hoped. You lost your patience, put something off, or slipped back into a habit you’re trying to change. Perhaps you did your best and still ended the week feeling discouraged.

Take a breath. You can begin again.

God’s mercy gives us room to learn, reset, and take a new step without carrying yesterday’s shame. You don’t have to pretend that nothing happened. You can acknowledge what needs to change, make things right where you can, and trust God to help you move forward.

Lamentations 3:22–23 reminds us that God’s compassion does not fail and His mercies are new every morning. That includes this morning. There is mercy for you before the emails, before the responsibilities, and before you’ve figured out how everything will work out.

Beginning again doesn’t always mean making a big announcement or changing your whole life overnight. Sometimes it means offering an apology. Returning to prayer. Picking up something you abandoned. Or choosing a different response when a familiar frustration shows up.

What is one step you can take today?

You don’t need a perfect start. You can start honestly, right where you are, with God’s help.

Let yesterday teach you without letting it define you. God’s mercy meets you here, and you can begin again.

Lord, thank You for fresh mercy this morning. Help me learn from yesterday without living in shame. Give me courage to make things right, wisdom to choose my next step, and grace to begin again with You. Amen.
