Responsibility and weight are different.
Some things in our lives require action. We need to make the call, have the conversation, make the decision, correct the mistake, set the boundary, or take the next step. Those things need to be handled.
But other things are beyond our control: what people think, how they respond, what happens tomorrow, doors we cannot open, outcomes we cannot guarantee, and situations we simply cannot fix. We need to hand those things over to God.
The problem comes when we keep carrying what we were supposed to surrender.
We pray about it, but then pick it back up. We give it to God in the morning and spend the rest of the day worrying about how He is going to handle it. We exhaust ourselves trying to control outcomes that were never ours to control.
Faith doesn't mean doing nothing. Faith means knowing what is yours to do and trusting God with what belongs to Him.
This week, ask yourself a simple question:
“Is this mine to handle, or is this mine to hand over?”
If it's yours to handle, ask God for wisdom and take the next step.
If it's beyond your control, release it. Stop rehearsing it. Stop carrying tomorrow into today. Stop allowing something you cannot change to consume the strength you need for what you can change.
Philippians 4:6–7 reminds us to bring everything to God in prayer, and His peace will guard our hearts and minds.
You were never designed to carry everything.
Handle what you can.
Hand over what you can't.
Trust God with the difference.
And keep moving forward.
