This Week's Words of Encouragement 3/11/25 Is God a Part of Your Life or the Center of It?

From Tuesday, March 11 2025 until Tuesday, March 18 2025

As you step into this new week, take a moment to ask yourself: Is God simply a part of my life, or is He at the Center of it?

There is a significant difference between the two. When something is merely a part of something, it only influences what is around it. But when something is at the Center, everything flows through it—it impacts everything connected to it.

Think about a wheel: The hub at the Center holds everything together, allowing the wheel to move effectively. If the hub is weak or misplaced, the wheel wobbles, struggles, or even collapses. The same is true for our lives. If God is only a piece of our week, we might acknowledge Him on Sundays, pray occasionally, or seek Him in tough times. But if He is at the Center, every decision, relationship, challenge, and victory flows through Him.

How Do We Know If God Is the Center?

Here are a few key ways to evaluate whether God is at the Center of your life or just a part of it:

1. Priorities Reflect the Center (Matthew 6:33)

"But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you."

  • When God is the Center, your schedule, commitments, and choices reflect His importance.
  • Instead of fitting God into your week, your week is built around Him.

✅ Reflection: Do you start your day with God or only acknowledge Him when it's convenient?

2. Decisions Flow from the Center (Proverbs 3:5-6)

"Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths."

  • When God is the Center, you consult Him before making decisions, big or small.
  • Instead of asking God to bless your plans, you ask Him to reveal His plans.

✅ Reflection: Do you pray for guidance before making choices, or do you make decisions and ask God to approve them later?

3. Trials Are Handled Differently (Philippians 4:6-7)

"Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God."

  • Your peace is unshaken when God is the Center because your trust is fully in Him.
  • You respond with faith and prayer instead of reacting with fear and worry.

✅ Reflection: When challenges arise, do you panic first and pray later, or do you turn to God immediately?

4. Relationships Are Impacted by the Center (1 John 4:7-8)

"Beloved, let us love one another, for love is of God; and everyone who loves is born of God and knows God."

  • When God is the Center, your interactions with others reflect His love and grace.
  • Instead of reacting in frustration, you extend patience and kindness.

✅ Reflection: Does your attitude and speech reflect Christ, or do you leave Him out of certain areas of your life?

5. Worship and Devotion Are Consistent (Psalm 119:105)

"Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path."

  • When God is the Center, worship and Bible study are not occasional activities but daily habits.
  • Instead of giving God only a part of your time, He is involved in every part of your day.

✅ Reflection: Is your prayer life and time in the Word consistent, or only when you need something?

How to Make God the Center of Your Life

1️⃣ Start Each Day with Him – Pray and seek His guidance before anything else. (Psalm 5:3)

2️⃣ Invite Him into Every Decision – Let God lead your choices, not just the big ones. (James 1:5)

3️⃣ Build Your Schedule Around Him – Don't just fit Him in; prioritize Him first. (Exodus 20:3)

4️⃣ Respond to Life Through Him – Make faith your default, not fear or worry. (Isaiah 26:3)

5️⃣ Let Your Actions Reflect Him – Show His love in speaking, working, and treating others. (Colossians 3:17)

Final Thought

God doesn't just want to be a part of your week—He wants to be the source of your life. If He is at the Center, everything flows through Him, and life moves in His divine direction.

This week, choose to let everything you do pass through Him first.

Let God be the Center, and watch everything else align in His perfect order.

Be blessed, and have a Christ-centered week!
