Every day, voices compete for your attention.
Social media.
Friends.
Opinions.
Culture.
Conversations.
Podcasts.
Comment sections.
Influencers.
Everybody has access to your ears.
But not everybody should have access to your direction.
One of the most overlooked parts of spiritual growth is being careful about who shapes your thinking. Because the people you consistently listen to will eventually influence the way you see yourself, your future, your relationships, and even God.
Some voices strengthen you.
Some confuse you.
Some inspire growth.
Some quietly drain your faith.
That’s why discernment matters.
Not every loud voice is a wise voice.
Proverbs 15:31 says:
“Whoever heeds life-giving correction will be at home among the wise.”
Healthy voices don’t just tell you what you want to hear. They challenge you, correct you, encourage you, and push you toward purpose.
Take an honest inventory of the voices around you.
Who corrects you with love?
Who encourages your growth?
Who constantly drains your peace?
Who pushes you closer to God instead of further away?
Because influence is powerful.
You can sit under negativity long enough that you start thinking negatively. You can hear fear long enough that you stop taking steps of faith. You can surround yourself with people who lack vision and slowly begin shrinking your own.
The wrong voices create confusion.
The right voices create clarity.
Jesus constantly surrounded Himself with people connected to purpose, truth, and growth. Even in the middle of crowds, He was intentional about who had access to Him.
You should be, too.
Not every voice deserves weight in your life.
Protect your mind.
Protect your peace.
Protect your direction.
Because who speaks into your life matters more than you think.
